Noob's Journal

Two years ago:

Approached by friend who stated the following: "A Comic Book store just opened right by my house and I see people in there all the time. Can you tell me a good place to start reading?"

One year ago:

I receive an email from someone who likes the Chris Nolan Batman movies. Said he heard something about the Killing Joke, and could I help him by recommending anything else.

Eight Months ago:

I hand my wife the Walking Dead hardcover Vol 1., and Y: The Last Man. I don't see her for three days. When I finally do see her, she says "I had no idea that comics could be like this."

Six Months ago:

While standing in a Comic store, a customer that has obviously been out of comics for some time asks the proprietor "New Avengers? What happened to the regular Avengers". What follows is a 38 minute recap of all of the events from Avengers Disassembled to present day. During the lecture the customer looks trapped. He is glancing nervously from side to side as he politely nods and smiles at the obviously insane store owner. The customer leaves without buying anything. I think to myself "He'll never be back. We've lost one."

Four Months Ago:
While standing in my Local Comic Book Store I think to myself "My God. Where are the children?"
 
Thus started the venture that you see before you.
